Therapy Dog Program

Therapy dogs are dogs who provide animal assisted therapy to people other than their owners. At CBDC, we offer private therapy dog training programs. Therapy dog training is a commitment. It can take anywhere from six months to a year to prepare a dog for therapy work. Therapy dogs must pass three obedience tests and a public access test. They must also be confident and comfortable to be met and handled by many different people.

Service Dog Program

A service dog is a trained working dog that helps one specific individual. At CBDC we offer service dog training programs for people who are training a service dogs for themselves or another person. Service dog training is a commitment. It can take anywhere from six months to a year to prepare a dog for service work. Service dogs must pass three obedience tests, a public access test, and must be able to complete two tasks for his owner to be considered a service do.

Therapy Dog Club

Therapy dog club is a club that meets once a week to do therapy work with your dog.We travel to many different places such as hospitals and senior care facilities. Participants must fulfill the requirements of a therapy dog to participate in therapy dog club.

Service Dog Practice

Service dog practice gives handlers an opportunity to practice public access training with their dog outside of a normal training session. We travel to many different places such as stores and restaurants to prepare your dog for the public access test.
