What is Rally?
Rally is an obedience based sport. You and your dog navigate a course, side-by-side, as you steer him through a course of 10-20 different signs. Each of these signs provides instructions regarding the next skill that is to be performed. The dog and handler move continuously throughout the course with the dog under control at the handler’s left side. There is a clear sense of teamwork between the dog and handler both during and between the numbered signs. Although each performance is timed, having a good race time is not the goal; it’s all about working as a team while performing the skills, with the dog under control.
Introduction To Rally Class
This class is designed to help you and your dog develop skills to be able to compete in CWAGS Rally Competitions. During this six week course you and your dog will learn about rally, learn how to read the signs and practice the CWAGS Starter Class course. To be in this class the dog must know basic obedience such as walking nicely on a leash, sit, down, and stay. Our next Rally classes start in September!
We will be offering Rally 1 and 2. The classes runs for six weeks at Elizabeth Milburn Park in Cedar Park, Texas and costs $60. More information will be coming soon!
